Meet Sithembele

Sithembele is a resident in the Khayalethu Child and Youth Centre Senior K2 Programme. Here the boys are trained and supported to be able to cope in the world of work as well as gain the necessary skills, knowledge, attitudes and values needed in the work environment.

Sithembele really enjoys working with his hands and he is practising his life skills, at Khayalethu, with the handyman.  In 2024 the foundation sponsored the tuition and transport costs of a 4 week wholesale, retail and petrol attendant training course at Winforce Academy (a skills and placement centre) for Sithembele.

His goal is to be employed full time and to be fully independent by the time he leaves the care of Khayalethu Child and Youth Centre in 1 or 2 years time.
